Combined hormonal contraception is used by an estimated 150 million women every day, so most users enjoy good protection from pregnancy, but its use also reduces some menstrual problems and the risk of a number of uncommon but potentially life threatening conditions, such as ovarian, endometrial and, possibly, colorectal cancer.
