The Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproduction is a teaching unit recognised under the National program for resident physicians (MIR) since 1976. We train specialists in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the residency format as part of the official programme over a period of four years. Each year, the Department incorporates three new MIRs, making a total of 12 Resident Physicians accompanying it in its daily activity.

The programming of the activities to be carried out by the residents includes not only the usual theoretical-practical aspects of the specialty, but also a preparation for medical-biological research, medical biostatistics, etc. To this end, residents collaborate in some of the Department's lines of research, attend continuing education courses and sign some work done during their stay.

The entire assistance and scientific activity developed in each course is collected in a timely manner in the "Curriculum book" that is provided to each student.
